Ahead of Republic Day 2026, Delhi Police and other security forces have tightened checks across Delhi and the National Capital Region, setting up multiple checkpoints at entry and exit points and increasing patrolling and vehicle inspections to prevent any untoward incident.
Officials said movement of people and goods is being closely monitored as part of the pre-event security posture. The emphasis is on early detection of suspicious activity, especially around crowded locations and the parade route.

Police officials said AI-enabled smart glasses and advanced facial recognition systems are being used to strengthen monitoring and threat detection. CCTV cameras are also expected to be supported by video analytics and Facial Recognition Systems (FRS) to help identify suspects more accurately.
